The first meeting of the Homeowners’ Rights Task Force occurred on October 24, 2023. At this initial meeting of the task force, brief discussion occurred about such topics as HOA manager licensing, options for resolving association disputes with homeowners that would be outside of the traditional lawsuit actions, the HOA budgeting process and potential reform of the process, and the HB22-1137 bill and continued concerns and issues involving same.

As you might recall, two task forces were created this past legislative session in order to study homeowner association and metro district concerns and issues.

The next Task Force meeting is set for November 21st, 2023 at 1pm. To register to attend the meeting via zoom, you will need to register, or you may watch the meeting live on YouTube. The proposed agenda for the November meeting will include discussion on HB22-1137, fining authority and practices and protection of association funds.

If you’d like to comment on the Task Force and its work, you may submit a public comment on the Task Force website.
