2017 “Roll out the Barrels” Food Drive Benefiting Metro Caring

Metro Caring is Denver’s leading hunger-relief organization, providing nutritious food to hungry families and individuals while promoting health and self-sufficiency. This year, Metro Caring opened a new Hunger Relief Center featuring a fresh-food market which offers foods like cheese, bread, milk, eggs, meat, fruits, and vegetables. Each year Metro Caring hosts a food drive called “Roll Out the Barrels.” This year marks their 16th annual food drive which was sponsored by The Denver Bar Association’s Community Action Network (CAN) Committee.

As members of the Denver Bar Association (DBA), Altitude Community Law joined with 37 law firms and organizations to help provide nutritious food for the new Hunger Relief Center. Our firm’s Legal Administrator, Missy Hirst, says “Altitude Community Law P.C. is proud to participate in opportunities which benefit the local communities where we work and live.  Our employees generously donate in various ventures, and we were pleased to recently be a part of the Denver Bar Association’s food donation drive to benefit Metro Caring.”  Nearly $47,750 in food and funds was donated! With the help of nearly 170 volunteers per week, Metro Caring also offers education, health services, and resources to help families become more self-sufficient.   Learn more about Metro Caring and how you can help, by visiting their website.
