Associations routinely conduct votes by mail, rather than at a meeting, for several reasons.  It could be that more homeowners tend to respond to mail queries than voting at a meeting. Or maybe too many homeowners live offsite and wouldn’t be able to show up at the meeting anyway. Or perhaps the association has already conducted an informational meeting, and is now ready to hold the formal vote by mail.

Whatever the reason, before you spend the time, energy and money sending out a big mailer for your next association vote, be sure you understand the legal requirements.  This video will give you the basics.
