Being an association manager is not always filled with lots of recognition for the hours put in to make communities successful.  There is a lot of negativity about the industry and the profession.  But, with the help of Association Reserves, Inc., Assurant, Kevin Davis Insurance and Pacific Premier HOA and Property Banking, one on-site manager and one portfolio manager will be recognized as the 2014 Manager of the Year with live online recognition at the 2014 CAI National Conference and Exhibition, and will receive $5000.  Judges are looking for “those individuals who have made their Associations better or turned them around, and are truly the best at what they do.”  The deadline for applying is January 15, 2014 so don’t delay in nominating your manager or even yourself.  More information can be found at www.manageroftheyear.org.

One response to “Manager of the Year
  1. Unfortunately, and at least in our area, there are only-a-few managers who are real professionals and sincerely dedicated to their profession. It has always been a source of amazement to me that incompetent managers are able to keep their jobs, or, if they lose them, are able to hire on quickly with another company. As a manager, I understand the reasons for this. Yet and still, truly-good managers do not generally receive the notice and appreciation they merit. Certainly, we know that we did not enter this profession for the glory. Sometimes, all that is needed to make the manager’s day is a simple “thank you,” or an e-mail expressing support and gratitude. I’ve gotten a few of these over the years, and they were as good as any award, because they were heartfelt, unsolicited, and from people who really did know the effort that I had made.
