As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to take its course, state and local governments are still struggling to adjust to the up-and-down statistics of the pandemic. In his most recent Executive Order, Governor Polis ordered the Department of Public Health to create “levels” of restrictions based on the number of outbreaks a county has experienced. The updated Public Health Order 20-35 refers to this as a “safer at home dial”.
The safer at home dial creates three safer at home levels that Colorado counties qualify for and depending on which level a county is labeled, it is bound by the restrictions for that level. Below is a summary for each level with respect to gatherings:
Level 1:
- Public and private gatherings limited to no more than 25 individuals;
- Indoor events may be conducted at 50% occupancy limit, but not to exceed 175 individuals per room;
- Outdoor events are limited to 250 people per designated activity or area;
- Recreation centers, gyms, and indoor pools are limited to 25% capacity, but not to exceed 75 individuals, whichever is less.
Level 2:
- Public and private gatherings are limited to 10 individuals;
- Indoor events are limited to 100 people as long as social distancing may be achieved;
- Outdoor events are limited to 175 people as long as social distancing may be achieved;
- Recreation centers, gyms, and indoor pools are limited to 25% capacity, but not to exceed 50 individuals, whichever is less.
Level 3:
- Public and private gatherings are limited to 10 individuals;
- Indoor events are limited to 25 people as long as social distancing may be achieved;
- Outdoor events are limited to 75 people as long as social distancing may be achieved;
- Recreation centers, gyms, and indoor pools may not open.
