It seems as though every time I turn on the TV there are stories encouraging us to “go green” and conserve energy.  From commercials highlighting the benefits of switching to LED light bulbs to installing high efficiency air conditioners, we are constantly reminded of the good each of us can do.   But beyond each of us doing our own good, have you thought of different ways your association can be proactive in creating or encouraging green living?  Associations have begun education programs for owners and drafting policies in order to ensure the sustainability of their community.  For example, Brambleton Community Association has established a “Green Team” to help communicate the association’s green initiatives as well as, adopted policies to use only non-phosphorous fertilizers in common areas.  What green initiatives do your communities have?
