Denver City Council has established a Sharing Economy Task Force to study the issue of regulation of short term rental of homes. In Denver, it is illegal to rent a residence for less than 30 days. However, like many “destination” cities, the growth of vrbo.com, Airbnb.com and homeaway.com has created a market for rentals for several nights or a week or two. The Sharing Economy Task Force kicked off its study earlier this year and will be meeting on June 29th and July 22nd to continue its discussions. Councilman Mary Ann Susman is the Chair of the task force and can be reached at 720.337.5555 if you’d like to provide comments or have questions.
