Government regulation is typically one of the top two or three drivers impacting the success of your business. In spite of the importance of regulation, many business owners – particularly owners of small businesses — are not aware of proposed new legislation and regulation that may impact them. That’s why four local business organizations (the Arvada Chamber of Commerce, Greater Golden Chamber of Commerce, West Chamber, and Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation) have joined together to create the Jefferson County Business Lobby (JCBL), which tracks legislation and provides advocacy for Jefferson County businesses.
JCBL’s lobbyist, R.J. Hicks, spoke to Jefferson County business leaders on Friday to provide a mid-session report on the status of a number of bills that may impact businesses. He emphasized the importance of business owners providing feedback to their local legislators regarding proposed bills.
