Many board members and managers get nervous when they have to present a proposal to owners for an increase in assessments, imposition of a special assessment, or even to approve a declaration amendment.  Rightfully so – owners can be a tough audience, especially if they perceive the board is trying to “pull the wool over their eyes”.  This session will focus on techniques to help your communities market and present difficult proposals to owners in a positive and informational manner that minimizes suspicion and animosity from the membership and increases the chances of obtaining membership approval for the proposed action.   In this class we will look at situations including (but not limited to) obtaining approvals for special assessments, assessment increases, loans, and revisions of governing documents to modify maintenance and insurance obligations.

This class is approved for 2 hours CMCA Credit.
