How often do you receive complaints about violations and nuisances allegedly occurring inside neighboring units?  For example, a downstairs owner complains that his upstairs neighbor installed hardwood flooring in her unit, which is prohibited by the governing documents.  Better yet, an owner complains about his next door neighbor who is hoarding newspapers and subjecting the association to a fire threat.  What do you do?  How do you verify this type of complaint?  And what’s more, what if you do verify it?  Can associations enter units and address these situations?  What are the parameters and legal consequences of doing so?  This session will review specific situations like the ones described above and work through possible solutions.  In this session we will also discuss actual examples and how they turned out.
