We read and reread communities’ governing documents day in and day out. We read them to determine quorum and how to pass special assessments. We read them to figure out maintenance obligations and to determine how to call special meetings. But in doing so, we oftentimes miss the “big picture” and specific nuances of each of the governing documents. What is the overall role of each document? What happens if there is a conflict between the documents? How important is the missing comma in a declaration’s maintenance provision? This class will focus on answering these and other pertinent questions, as well as the various nuances we may miss when reviewing the governing documents.
